And a bonus question, what are some English teams that have won either the top flight, F.A, or Football League Cup (currently Carling Cup) a long time ago and have since fallen from grace down to the Coca-Cola 1st or 2nd division?

I know how it works between the first 5-6 levels of the system, but how about further on down?

I’m assuming that most of these clubs below the Football Conference are amateur clubs, so what type of criteria do they have to meet in order to move up to the Football Conference, Football League and eventually, the EPL?

What level on the system will clubs be denied promotion if they fail to meet the stadium and financial criteria? Likewise, what level can a club be spared of relegation because the top team in the level below them cannot meet the standards for promotion?

My friend and I are planning on backpacking across ireland and while we are there we wish to see a football gam. We want to see a game with a decent team.
