How can I get the Football Manager 2009 3D Pitch to work when everything is greyed out?

how do I get 3D Pitch on football manager 2009? i cant select it, and my computer is 4.4Ghz HP windows vista bought recently. I’m pretty sure the graphics cards and everything else is up to scratch because its a recently bought computer, This is a complete letdown on Sports interactive’s behalf.
