If you’re having problems with coverage, before worrying about picking a pass off, you need to be concerned with defending the pass. Watch the receiver, because the receiver will clue you in on if the ball is coming towards him. Get your hand up and knock the ball away, because a deep incompletion is as valuable as picking a ball off 30 yards downfield. Another key is since you’re playing safety, you have the opportunity to lay that WR out. Your job on the deep ball is to assist the corner. When the ball reaches the WR, drill a hole right through him and plant him on his a$$ sgtallen

Lay the guy out, helmet to rib cage a couple times and you wont have to worry about him going for the ball anymore. John L

Well the size of your opponent doesnt really matter so much because you arent intercepting it “from someone” that would be stripping the ball if they had it. To intercept, place yourself near enough that you can give a quick burst and cut across the front of the reciever and steal the pigskin right from underneath his nose vtjames7433

Hit the ball out of his hands as he’s pulling it in or catching it. jr_footballpro
