How does Scottish Football have anything to do with Irish/Northern Irish Politics?

Football is supposed to be a good, clean, fun, sport. Not the international board of fighting over ethics. What kind of sportsmanship is that?

It seems, and it may be a myth, at one point Rangers players were all Prods and Celtic players were Catholics. It’s what I heard. griffin_tattoo
Celtic for the most part of their history have always had a mixture of both religions on staff both playing and general club staff. Rangers on the other hand never hired a catholic ( not even to clean the toilets ) until they signed Mo Johnson and we all know what happened to him at ibrox. As for the politics and religious bigotry I think most fans of the OLD FIRM have left those days behind and they are the true football fans. Unfortunately there are still a few left who live for hate and bigotry. Banter is good and that is why I enjoy this site. For the record I am from the Republic of Ireland. gizmo
You are correct Eammon,that is exactly the case regarding the **** who identify themselves with either of the Twins of Evil.
It doesn’t apply to fans who follow their home town clubs.
