Argyr asked:

In football games there is a camera that flies around over the field and takes close-up shots of all the players. How does that camera work?

That camera is on steel wire strung across the stadium with reels and controlled by an operator in Master Control.

there are at least 10 cameras and operators shooting a football game, depending on what game, sunday night football., monday night football, super bowl…, etc… the cameras are located all over the field, anywhere where they don’t impede the game. They are up high on stands so that they are able to survey the entire field. The director calls the shots in the truck and the camera people respond with what is needed. After a while, the crew gets to know what the director is looking for, so they begin selling what they think the director wants…

No he means how a sky cam works. There is a rope that connects over the field….hmmm okay there is a rope that is attached to the inside of one side of the statium and it connects to the other side.So along this rope is a camera and it records everything under itself.
