How many kickoffs are there in a football game?

I am totally clueless about football. The Superbowl has one kickoff, at the beginning, right? Any other ones?

    It depends. One at the beginning and one after halftime. one after each score. Plus if the team fails to get a first down then they punt. Jimdog

    there is one at the beginning of each half and at the two minute warning there is something wierd about that though. i think its only in the second half or at the beginning of the 2nd and 3rd quarter. gsschulte

    There is one kickoff at the beginning of each half. After that a team kicks off after they score a touchdown or a field goal. There are also punts. Which is when a team gets to fourth down and doesn’t want to go for a first down, they punt the ball. ninerfan

    There is always at least 2. Their is one to start the game and one at half time. All other kickoffs take place after a team scores.

    Punting, on the other hand, takes place when a team is on 4th down and they do not feel they can move the ball far enough to get a first down (this can actually happen on any down but they do it on fourth down usually because if they don’t get a first down on fourth down the other team gets possession of the ball at the spot that they were stopped). johnnyd_83
