Viv asked:

Just sat here watching the football with hubby, not something I know lots about and just wondered…… In football (premier league/fa cup/world cup) is the football used brand new and is it only used once i.e they have a new ball for every match?

  1. Get Cameron out says:

A ball is used in one game only, and several balls are used in a game. After that the club will use them for training.

There needs to be more than one ball available in a game, if a ball goes out of play, a new ball can be used more quickly than retrieving the old one. Also some football grounds are small, and the ball is likely to leave the ground. Get Cameron out

  2. Metaphoric-ally speaking... says:

One ball can only be on the pitch at a time. There are many other balls on the side if the ball needs to be replaced. The ball at the start of the game is brand new and over the course of the match it gets replaced with another ball. This is because balls tend to get worn out relatively quickly.
