Grace asked:

For Halloween this year I am going to be a football player and I want to turn a real pigskin into a purse. I want to cut it open and add a zipper so all of my stuff (phone, id, make-up, camera, etc.) doesn’t fall out.

Any ideas or tips on what would be the best way to do this?

Well I hope that you are really good at crafts and sewing to do this. My suggestion would be to cut one side and pull everything out of it sew the end so it doesn’t tear more but obviously don’t sew it closed cut two holes one on each side on the top so it could be the purse you clutch with your hand but make the holes big enough to put your fingers through. hope that helps because that is all i can think of. well i would undo the regular stitching and take all the stuff in the football out and stitch the bottom have together and the the sides and then the top coners and then get a different football and rip a peace off 4 the strap and then stitch it 2 the sides And there u go csl

Buy a cheapish football at like Walmart, Target, a sporting goods store, whatever. Slit the top where the stitching is (a box cutter would probably work well but BE CAREFUL with it). Pull out all the stuff from the inside. Glue some fabric to the inside. Glue or sew on a zipper. Let all glue dry. Insert your purse contents (phone, money, whatever). For a strap, I would say use either some brown fabric and sew it on or an old or cheap belt. If you don’t have one try the salvation army, goodwill, whatever, and cut it to how long you want the strap to be.

Here is a good site that i found to:

Good luck and enjoy I’m sure that will look awesome when it’s done. Christina C
