Is it possible to play football after having ACL allograft surgery?
I am a senior in high school and tore my ACL completely in half this past football season. I had surgery on October 9, 2009. It was an allograft (ACL graft from a cadaver) and from what I hear, you cannot play football after this is done. It has been almost 4 months since the surgery and I can run/lift with no pain, but I am taking it slow. It gets sore but that’s about it. Any information on this subject would be helpful.

yes it is possible to play again. but with any surgery there is a risk you will never play again. the best think is to go see your doctor and ask for pt (physical therapy) with ot(occupational therapy) if your still on crutches. since your leg is very weak. i had the same surgery but with gymnastics and im back to gymnastics. so good luck. and yes you can play football but just being careful. and going through therapy to re strength it and not rush it.
