Is it too late for me to start playing football?
Im gonna be a sophmore in H.S. and football has kicked its way into my mind again. I played it before but i quit ( even though the coach wanted me to come back) because i thought it was too hard for me. I’ve been a football fan for a long time, even though i moved here from poland in 2001. Well currently im 6 feet tall, and i weigh approximately 150-155 pounds, but my upper body isnt as masculine as i want it to be. so i think if i put on some more muscle, which will make me gain more weight, i would be able to play. but what do you think, is it too late?
i tried soccer, i played it freshman year and i was okay at it and I mean its fun but only if ur the one scoring, in football you all work your butts off for a gridiron match up under the friday night lights, looking back at it i loved football, i probably didnt realize it last time i played, but looking back at it, its the sport of all sports.

its never too late….just work on yourself and get back there next year! good luck!! Chris S
No, man, I don’t think it’s too late at all. I’ve watched plenty of college football games where some of the greats didn’t even play until their senior year. I quit football in 7th grade and came back as a monster in 8th. Sometimes a setback can motivate you to be even better than you would have been without it. The only thing you have to lose is by not trying and regretting it later. skipjack
No, but you better get into gear, working out right now to increase, size, strength, and speed. I wouldn’t expect to play much next season either way. Jon M
It sounds like you played your freshman year. If you know the playbook, and are willing to work in the off season to “beef up”, then you should probably play. also take in to consideration if you had fun when you last played. If you didnt enjoy it before, than why play? find another sport that you like and try it.it shouldnt be too late to play until your junior or senior year. Matt

You are cutting it close. If it was hard to you before, its going to be even harder now. samuelj13
