I always made sure all of my pads were the smallest available that would still protect me and that they were very, very tight. I wouldn’t tell you to do that obviously, as it can be unsafe. However, if your helmet is hitting the back of your neck it may be too big. There shouldn’t be much room for your helmet to move around a whole lot on your head. It should be pretty snug. Maybe you should talk to your equipment manager or a coach if you feel that the helmet is not fitting correctly. Jordon

Shoulder shrugs in the weight room will help some…but basically stick with it another 6 months to a year and then your neck will be bigger that it won’t faze you. The neck muscles will get worked. Chris or Pancakes

it will eventully go away, just like when the helmet feels like its too tight, that goes away in a matter of weeks..just run it out hittinpitchn27

make sure it’s tight and its fitted right, ask your coaches to make sure its good. other than that, sorry dude, theres not much you can do, at least not that I noticed when I played in HS. You’ll get used to it and it wont affect you after a day or two at practice Mejo
