I’m a freshman now, and it’s too late for this season but next year I really want to play on my school’s football team. I weigh about 150 and am 5′9 of 5′10, I’m pretty slow and out of shape and although i go to lifting every tuesday and thursday i’m not too strong and I know this is pathetic but i can only bench like 65 pounds. Please tell me how to start training and how to be good. Also what position do you think I should go for, oh and no OL please.

Soccer in the US will eventually be called football, just like it is in every other English speaking country. I think American football should be called wrestle ball, catch ball, ten yard ball, or hand ball. Do you have any other ideas?

I am a 5 foot 9 163 pound athletic freshman. I am solid and not fat or slow. I am thinking about playing football since a lot of people say I have the right body for the game. However, I have only played football in the backyard and I am not sure if I could play at the JV level. I am only planning on playing linebacker or safety. If I start to play I want to possible be able to earn a division 3 or better scholarship.
