How are the various shades of green cut into lines and patterns on football pitches? The grass must be the same length – they can’t just make certain sections longer than others. Does anyone know how they do it? Thanks.

If you see old Big Match clips, England’s football turfs were muddy and torn up by October, but now the pitches looks the same all year round – What’s going on?

I find them really distracting from the game and although I appreciate advertising is a massive part of football I wonder if it is encroaching on the game too much. What do you think?
