im in the same boat with you. we just started practice with helmets today!

not only should you drink cold water, as suggested by the other person, but get a seperate bottle or bottles and pour them over your face and back of your neck. since that wastes a butt load of water you could try filling a cooler with ice and water then throwing some rags or wash cloths in there. whenever you have a water break throw one of those bad boys on your face or back of your neck.

for some reason I puke EVERY single day at practice or at the game. I don't know if it's nerve or what but sometimes it's multiple times. weird but whatever. I've got it under controll for now and whenever I feel the urge I just stand up straight hands over the head, and breathe in the nose out the mouth. my coaches always say that anyway.

if that dosent work, the complete opposite is good too, just put
your hands on your knees and try and keep your stomach curled over so it can't force its way up. try and do this when you have the water or towels available.

I don't know if your team supplies water but mine does. if they do, become good friends with that thing.

or just tell coach you gotta blow and they usually listen. but it's football, don't expect any sympathy.

good luck bro!

p.a. I didn't puke today, so my method worked, for now.... Jeff

Start going outside and working out yourself a few weeks before football practice begins. Start out easy and gradually make the workouts harder and harder. That way, you're already fairly conditioned by the time football starts, and you're not shocking your body going from doing nothing to strenuous exercise in the heat. Mistermoonpie
