Jake M asked:

Do college football scouts look for size and speed more than what you did in high school games or wat? Cus I am a secondary running back in a wing-t formation. I am 5′ 10″ 165, run a 4.9 forty, shuttle 4.9, bench 185, squat 305 but im a junior and like i said am not the primary back… So i dont get as many touches, so does that matter as much as physical ability to colleges?

Speed, Strenth, Size…. But, not as much as the pros. A college will take a chance on you if you’re too slow/small/weak, if they’ve seen you have success with your high school team. (A pro team may even… look at AQ Shipley who is on the Steeler’s practice team) Prospero Reincarnate

The numbers are the numbers. But when a scout comes to watch practice they are looking for a player that rises above the rest. They are checking to see if the player looks the part of the position. When that is established and you’ve piqued their interest, you will then get down to the numbers. Brianne F
