Tim B asked:

I’m a freshman in highschool and I’ve been playing football since seventh grade. I’m 6′2 and 165 lbs with a medium body frame. The thing is, right now I play on both offensive and defensive line. I enjoy playing as a defensive end, but playing as an offensive tackle isn’t exactly the most exciting position. Keep in mind I’m not very big because of height. My coach wants me to put on weight and play only on offensive line next year, so I want to change my offensive position before then. I’ve wanted to have a position that handles the ball, but my acceleration and foot speed isnt that great because of really long legs. Im open to anything right now. If you have any ideas, please post, Id really like to know.

    Receiver

you’d make a great target. Either you’d be a flanker or split end or even a tight end. Wesley W

try wide-receiver…Are you relatively fast? Can you catch the ball?

Either WR or Quarterback…Can you throw the football well? I think you would be an excellent quarterback if you could throw the football well and could run a bit…. jarrett b

Wide Reciever. To be reciever, you don’t necessarily have to have great speed, just good hands and the ability to seperate at the line. Not everyone is blessed with Randy Moss type speed, but at 6′2 and 165 as a freshman, I’d go with wide reciever as your best option. If you’re going to do both offense and defense, i’d lean towards cornerback on defense. You’d like to have the bulkier players on the lines to protect the quarterback. rummiesdummy

You could be a tight end. don’t have to be a speed burner and just have to be able to catch the ball occassionally and block good. If you bulk up pretty good you could be a center. They get to handle the ball every offensive play of the game. M. H

sounds like all you will be good at is OT. You have to remember coach won’t care where you play. If you are slow he won’t want you handling the ball. Best case scenario is TE for you bub. OL takes a special kind of player to handle the position. If you like hitting you should like it.

And if it was not the answer you liked then good luck. I wouldn’t want to play with anyone so selfish. Francisco B
