What football position should i play next year in highschool football?

Im 16 weigh 160 I run a 40 in 4.7 bench 2oolb never played football before…what position is best for me? and im black

You should go for Running Back.it is pretty easy.you would be behind the QB and all u really need to do is run throw the guys and score but you got to remember plays so if ur bad at that it is going to be bad.Because i had a trouble trying to remember it. jesse b
I’d suggest tight end or H-back. You’re not going to be a prime tailback with 4.7 speed in the 40, but if you have good hands, you’ll probably find a way onto a roster. 4.7 speed is pretty good for a tight end or H-back. pged73

What you need to do is go talk to your coach about what he thinks. No matter what you want to play, you are not going to walk into practice on the first day and say you are playing a position. The coach is going to put you in a position and you are going to have to work your butt off to be any good at it. You are going to be well behind the curve, football is an extremely hard and aggressive sport, it is not for everyone. Make sure you are willing to take and deal out a lot of pain. You need to also make sure you are 100% committed to getting into the weightroom in the offseason and getitng yourself into shape before the season begins. If you start out storng in these areas it will help yu out for next year.
In summary, approach the coach, tlak to him about what he thinks you can do for the team and ask him on ways that you can get yourself prepared. Unless you work your butt off over the summer on his suggestions you are not going to have much luck next year unless you are in a pretty weak league/school. Shack
