What is a good workout plan for football?

I want to try out for my jv football team next year and i was wondering what a good workout plan for football is to prepare for the season. I want to play WR really bad. I appreciate your help.

    eat good drink lots of water. lift weights run a lot get fast run the reciver routes and perfect them. and get strong. George D

    For a WR its important to do squats and calf raises so you can jump. Also, make sure you run, alot. Tyman

    You’re going to need a strong upper and lower body for football. On top of that you will need to focus on endurance as you you will doing a lot of running. So create a plan that targets your upper and lower section effectively as well as cardio (jogging and even cycling).

    Follow a strict diet containing high protein rich foods such as chicken breasts and eggs as well as fruits, salmon etc. Here’s a tip; for real muscle gain eat every 2-3 hours if possible.

    Set yourself up a training regime over 7 days. Remember to allow for rests in between each workout as recovery is critical to gain muscle mass and strength.

    I use Vince DelMontes’s training book found at to set up my workout regime as well as diet. Its actually the best I have ever read to achieve real results – its like my bible :D
