Michael H asked:

I am 5′9” and 195 pounds right now. I am also a freshman now and i plan on planning football for the team next year. I fear that i am too small to be a tight end, but this is the only position i dream of playing, Should i gain weight and muscle or hope i grow a few more inches.

    I would say 6′ 8″, 400 pounds, with a 28 ” waist, a 40 time of 4.29 and a vertical leap of 50 inches.

Don’t laugh… They’re not hard to find… This web site is loaded with them…

Quit worrying about size, and use what the good Lord gave you. Football players are measured in desire, intensity and winning attitude. Those are things you can influence. robe

Robe is right, heart and determination are way bigger attributes to a coach than size. Look at Warrick Dunn, he is “too little” yet he has had a very successful NFL career. lsutigerfan6

I agree somewhat with Rob on this one. You are still growing into your frame. It to early to tell whether your build is closer to a speed tight-end, or a blocking tight-end. So I would give it another year before doing anything drastic. As for now, try to be the best athletic you can. Cysteine
