I read that FIFA doesn’t like USA’s bid for the 2018 World Cup because our stadiums are built for american football and not soccer. I was wondering what the difference in stadiums were?

From what I’ve observed, the size of the pitch is pretty different. The European pitches are much wider than our football fields. They may be longer as well, but they are certainly wider. That is what we have available here, but it is not what they are used to playing on and it makes a difference. I can understand the concerns.

You are right. The specs for US soccer stadium mostly do not meet FIFA’s standards.
