What is the magnitude of the football’s resultant displacement?
I drew it up but i still need the angles to find the answer. idk any other way than with the use of angles. please explain in detail how to do it.
A quarterback takes the ball from the line of scrimmage, runs backward for 13.0 yards, then runs sideways parallel to the line of scrimmage for 11.0 yards. At this point, he throws a 32.0 yard forward pass straight down the field. What is the magnitude of the football’s resultant displacement? Answer in units of yards.

Okay, seriously?
Pretend the line of scrimmage is the point (0,0), like on a graph.
He takes it backwards 13 yards (0,-13)
He runs sideways 11 yards, parellel to the line of scrimmage 11 yards (11, -13)
He throws the football 32 yards straight (11, -13 + 32)
So the ball is out 11 yards to the left (or right, it doesn’t matter for the next part), and out 19 yards. Try the pythagorean theorem. If you draw it out, it DOES make a right angle. Don’t look at the distance traveled backwards.
11^2 + 19^2 = c^2
121 + 361 = c^2
c^2 = 482
rt(482) = 21.95 yards (about) Professional Rubber Band Shooter
