My friend and I are planning on backpacking across ireland and while we are there we wish to see a football gam. We want to see a game with a decent team. We also want to be able to follow the team a bit before we go so I was also wondering where a good place to view their games online would be. Thanx.

    Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians FC are the two most successful and most followed in the country. They’re rivals, both Dublin clubs, and have dominated Irish football for most of its existence. If you’re an American though I might suggest St. Patrick’s Athletic. An American by the name of Ryan Guy plays there and he’s a decent player. dvs.leigh

    Shamrock Rovers F.C.

    The Rovers are based in the lovely capital city of Ireland and are one of Ireland’s most decorative football clubs. Me and my mate went to Ireland for a holiday back in 2005 and we went along to watch a Rovers game – It was AMAZING! You can search the club on YOUTUBE and watch all the tributes and games that fans have uploaded. Last season they finished 2nd but are tipped to win it this season. 4GET.IT

    Deanpurple is right. The most popular team here is not Irish. Man United, Liverpool and Celtic have the strongest following here. If you’re asking which Irish team is the most popular then that would be Shamrock Rovers. I’ve never come across any website that shows League of Ireland games Quinn the Eskimo
