I’m in the Army, in Iraq right now. When I get out I plan on going to college. I want to have a career as a High School football coach. Could someone advise me on the best course of action?

education with a minor is sports.
if you teach in a small school you may need to be
able to teach another subject. many coaches wear
    two hats. agedlioness

First, thanks for your service to our country. I’d get a degree either in Physical Eduaction or Teaching. Good luck and keep your head down. 45Fan

When I was in HS, the coach also taught history. Before that, he had been a Marine DI. Yeah, he made us march around in PE. Better than volleyball, I guess.

Major in something relevant to high school and enjoy sports. You’ll be OK.

Take care of youself over there. OR1234

A degree in Physical Education with some other subject that you could teach at the high school level is probably your best route. It may be difficult to get a job that involves only coaching and PE, so be prepared to teach something else in addition to the coaching.

With prayers for your safe return. Imaka
