where can i start playing football?

hi i live in vancouver canada, and i want to play grow up to play pro football. im 14 yrs old. my question is do you have any suggestions on where i can start? because at my school football is banned(coz its too dangerous) but we just play it in gym class. and thats like 5 times a yr. should i join a football club? or are there any other suggestions?
