Surely we should have new, young blood to make up the team. Isn’t it sad to be relying on this old boy as such a key player? Does this show the poor state of this countries football?
only a few answer the question. I’m not asking you to tell me why Beckham is great. I’m asking if you think the national team is in a state for relying on him soooooooo much (still).

If you like to believe that David Bentley and Theo Walcott will be the next David Beckham….

IF Walcott learns to take free kicks , he will be.

Ofcorse it dosen’t show the poor state of the country’s football , it’s not in a poor state , we lost to the best team in the world , and it was only 2-0 , Beckham was probly the only one on the pitch that WANTED to play , he always gives 100% for his country. CFC ♪♫ Super Ricardo Quaresma ♪♫

it was the same story with seaman, teddy sheringham etc..
so yes. and it has been in a dire state for a long time. it’s not like we really don’t have talent though. just glancing through the first team and you see a handful of world class acts.
the problem is something which a long line of coaches have failed to diagnose over a few decades- these top players just haven’t managed to gel well enough to advance far enough in anything. gutter_flower

the really sad thing is how your players wont gel.i mean its undisputed the quality yee have in yeer team.theyr all top players but you compare how fluid they were with spain.i think its pointless getting him back.hes too slow as a winger and theres no way hes fitting into your central midfield with the competition for places there.there must be a lot of americans in here.Beckhams finished,do you know when his career ended?the minute he went where good footballers go to die-the mls craith22

You are way off. If you compare the England team with other big nations, they are relatively a young team. France and Italy are still dependent on their aged players.
Besides, even big clubs like Milan still rate Beckham highly. And he is still delivering the goods on the pitch. Beckham can still fit into any national team. England are better off with Beckham. jyoti

yea spain dominated that game. They had possesion the whole time pretty much. Spain is a dream team, they have sooooo many good players its not even funny.

David Beckham is an english god, he can do whatever he wants. ur daddy

given the fact that david beckham has done more for our national team in the ast ten years than anyone, i’d say we would be lost without him. Sabrina A

    I dont agree with you.
France rellied heavily on an aged Zidane and look where it got them. World Cup FINAL.

It says nothing about the team & english football as a w hole for having to rely on him. However, it does say alot about the player, his staying power and ability. Blue B
