Why do football players think they deserve all this respect?

I play soccer, and we share the football field for conditioning, and whenever they walk on the field they spit at us, call us faggots, and sometimes kick the balls away. We have tried to get into it with them several times, but our coach just punishes us, and the football coach doesn’t do anything about it. Why do these football players think they are better than everyone else??
EDIT: The football field is also the soccer field, we play our games on the same field.

    they are just being jerks. A lot of kids think that soccer is “gay” without really having any clue of how difficult and fun it is to be good at. Bottom line is we dont wear pads and the games are just as “dangerous”. Its probobly just because they are cocky jerks. senorchucks

    It’s because these guys think football is the greatest game in the world and only real man play this game. It’s actually a common misconception.
    Football is only played in America. The rest of the world is still wondering how a game where most of the time, the ball is played with the hands is called ‘football’. In fact, 3/4 of the action happens off the ball.
    Just walk away man. Soccer players are more intellectual. They use more of the heads then brute force. Take it easy. The rest of the world thinks you are cool. jyoti

    I have played both sports and Football (soccer) is far harder to play and you will get hurt more. It doesn’t matter what sport you play, if someone talks shit, you have to talk back. They think you’re cowards because you let them walk over you. Don’t worry about what the coach says, how and why is he going to punish the whole team? You’re boys, and not girls. Have you seen how football players from the Balkans act? They don’t take shit from no one. I’m not talking about C.Ronaldo as he is a woman and he is Portuguese. Kick their stuff too if they want to be immature and kick yours. If you act crazy, they probably won’t do anything as most people who are like bullies are cowards deep down and just pick on people smaller than them. X-Factor

    soccer is still not regarded by the ignorant as a real sport. besides football gives an impression of macho. the culture in football games fan this thinking and tend to look down on other sport. Shhhhhhh
