I mean, English football came before American Football and American Football hardly involves using your feet. I mean, why even call it football when a game called football already existed. It makes no sense.

Soccer is a slang term, first used in England in the 1880’s. It is an abbreviation of association football.

The word “Football” does not refer to kicking a ball, but it is believed that it originated in the 15th century as a term for games that took place “on foot”.

I’m not sure but I think that in the old english there is a word that starts with (Socc) or something that has to do with feet !
and beside american are new english who wanted a new life in a new country that had nothing to do with their old one (ENGLAND)!

  4. Mrs. Ronaldo says:

ok in the united states its called soccer because they stoled the name, (american) football was created because of soccer (the real football) because if there wouldnt have beeen soccer (football) there wouldnt be (american) football,
