Why is football the number one sport in America if basketball is more exciting?

no its the biggest sport because it is the most physical, i watch to see the big hits. Yes it is a betting sport, but no more so than march madness is college bball.. its all about the physical play that makes us watch. JSAL21

I prefer the strategy in Football. There is a lot behind the “X” and “O”.
Also I like the teamwork in football. Basketball is more geared toward individual achievement.
Of course you understand that different things interest different people and that what some consider exciting may bore some one else. Especially if they don’t understand the game. rageinbull
