However if you put those metal cleats wrapped them int a thick towel and then put that THICK towel wrapped cleats into a pillow case (or even a pillow case, towel per cleat) and then safety pinned them shut–then you could probably do it.

I would put them on delicate so there wasn’t too much agitation (round and round) just soaking and then a quick spin or 2.

I would definitely not recommend that as those metal cleats could very easily damage your washers tub. T-A-D Lives!!
